Who we are?

EurAqua is a network of European freshwater research institutes. Our mission is to support decision making on the policies and management of Europe’s freshwater resources. We will achieve this through international cooperation between the partners in developing and promoting uptake of European freshwater science and technology.

STARS4Water conference on water resilient river basin management

15-16 September 2026

STARS4Water is organising an international conference at Delft, the Netherlands.
Theme of the conference is Developing stakeholder-driven solutions for a water resilient river basin management: Connecting Science to Practice.
The conference will showcase approaches and key insights derived from stakeholder-driven solutions for strengthening water-resilient river basin management and bridging the gap between science and practice.It will convene river basin authorities, policymakers, scientific institutions, and stakeholders from across Europe to exchange knowledge and experiences on advancing climate-resilient water management.Attention will be given to the implementation of the EU Water Resilience Strategy, with a strong emphasis on the practical challenges encountered at both national and river basin levels. Discussions will focus on improving preparedness, reducing vulnerabilities, and enhancing adaptive capacity in response to climate change.

EurAqua members meet at CEDEX in Madrid

19-20 May 2026

This year, the EurAqua research community will gather at CEDEX in Madrid on 19–20 May 2026. The meeting will include discussions on how EurAqua can support the implementation of the EU Water Resilience Strategy through strengthened international collaboration.
In addition, EurAqua partners will present recent insights and research findings addressing Europe’s key water challenges.
