STARS4Water is a stakeholder driven EU research project under the Horizon Europe Framework Program: Supporting STakeholders for Adaptive, Resilient and Sustainable Water Management. The ambition is to improve the understanding of climate change impacts on water resources availability and the vulnerabilities for ecosystems, society and the economy at river basin scale. To achieve this, STARS4Water develops, in co-creation with stakeholders, the next generation tools and data services to support informed decision-making on actions towards sustainable and climate resilient water resources management. River basin organisations from seven European river basins are involved as partners in the project. The river basins serve as living labs for the co-creation of data services and tools with stakeholder communities and as accelerators for further up-scaling of these services and tools to other river basins worldwide.
The project started October 2022 and runs for 4 years. The project will organize a conference on tools and services to enhance water resilience in Europe at spring 2026. The project welcomes the participating of river basin managers, representatives of water use sectors, governments, science community, non-governmental organisations and consultancy firms.
